Engine Exhaust – Section 11.5
The Engine Exhaust is used to disperse the hot combustion gases produced from the diesel engine to safe location outside the pump room. It is important to verify with the pump supplier or the manufacturer that the exhaust pipe is the appropriate size for the distance and number of changes in direction to avoid engine back pressure that exceeds manufacturer’s recommendation.
22.214.171.124 Exhaust from the engine shall be piped to a safe point outside the pump room and arranged to exclude water.
126.96.36.199 Exhaust gases shall not be discharged where they will affect persons or endanger buildings.
188.8.131.52 Exhaust systems shall terminate outside the structure at a point where hot gases, sparks, or products of combustion will discharge to a safe location.
184.108.40.206 Exhaust system terminations shall not be directed toward combustible material or structures, or into atmospheres containing flammable gases, flammable vapors, or combustible dusts.
